The Khazarians (7th - 8th centuries)
During the 7th – 8th centuries the steppe zone was under control of the Khazarian Khanate. That nomadic union of various tribes communicated with the Byzantine empire, often as the military power proposed for some compaign against the Arabs, Bolgars, Avars, Slavs and others. Due to those relations the Khazarian elite was richly offered with the weaponry, horse bridle decorations, prestigious personal adornaments, etc. Some jewelry examples were made following Turkic polychrome style.
